Gayle Printz
The Intangible
Exhibition
The Intangible (2021) is an exhibition of new paintings by American artist, Gayle Printz. Gayle's artworks negotiate through the emotional spheres of the subconscious and unconscious mind. With her enigmatic quality, this body of work urges us to find a unique meaning behind each colour and mark.
- Contemporary Art Awards
These paintings allow the viewer to find emotional meaning in the intangible by evoking the unconscious use of their own imagination. By using colour and distinct brushwork as tools of expression, the work attempts to transcend the familiar. These paintings invite the viewer to assign personal meaning by listening to the inner voice. Similar to life, the meanings that are unravelled in this body of work will depend upon the viewer's perception.
